| | | | | Today (October 14th), Beijing will host a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Kazakhstan’s delegation is headed by Prime Minister Karim Massimov.

| | | | | A Franco-Kazakhstan Centre for Technology Transfer was officially established last Tuesday (Oct 6th) in Astana, during a visit by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Kazakhstan. The Center will have the role of a ‘trusted third party to facilitate technology transfer between the two countries.’
Kazakhstan’s Engineering & Technology Transfer Centre (ETTC) owns 51% of the new structure while Compagnie Europйenne d'Intelligence Stratйgique (CEIS, France) owns the remaining 49%.
